Season 2012 starts February 11

Welcome from our Artistic Director

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to MCO's fourth concert season. Although many thought the idea of setting up a new orchestra in Sydney was not far short of crazy, I certainly had high hopes when MCO first entered the Sydney musical scen three years ago. However, the speed of our growth and success exceeded even my expectations and now with more than 40 acclaimed concerts behind us I look forward to the future of this very unique orchestra with great anticipation.

The mission of MCO is to present accessible, premium quality orchestral concert performance, and inspire a love ad enjoyment of classical music to a wide range of audiences. 2012 sees MCO offer even more options to our patrons with 12 concerts in our main orchestral series (MET SERIES), 4 concerts in our brand new chamber series (INDY SERIES) and several special events with high profile artists/soloists throughout the year.

I invite you to explore our 2012 season and look forward to seeing you at a concert soon.

Message from our patron

As Paul Kelly once sang, "From little things, big things grow". All major arts organisations start somewhere, usually with the passion and drive of one key person. I take my hat off to Sarah-Grace Williams and the entire Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra as they enter a fourth season while having built a very professional musical group who deliver enthusiastic, polished performances of the highest level. Their capacity to deliver premium performances to any sized audiences and appearing as anything from a small ensemble to a symphony sized orchestra is testament to the versatility of this important orchestra and the high standards they continuously achieve. I'm proud to be a patron of the orchestra and look forward to a fifth season and beyond!.
